Job summary

Kier Group is seeking a Lead Process Engineer to provide technical leadership across water and wastewater projects within our Southern Water Framework, including office and site locations in Falmer. You will guide feasibility through to detailed design, supporting operational performance improvements and mentoring teams.

The role requires significant experience in water/wastewater, process modelling, and a Chartered Engineer status or progression towards chartership, with strong collaboration

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemical, Process or Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Significant experience in water and wastewater and leading process engineering on complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of drinking water, wastewater, sludge treatment and resource recovery processes.
• Experience in process modelling, hydraulic design, treatment optimisation and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority and lead development of process designs, calculations, mass balances and performance assessments.
• Produce and review process flow diagrams, P&IDs, design reports, technical specifications and process narratives.
• Provide technical assurance and governance for feasibility studies, option evaluations and business cases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions and analyse operational data to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to bids, tenders and promote innovation across the business.
