Job summary

Kier Group in the Southern Water framework seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical installation activities on water and wastewater projects. Based on site at Chichester / Falmer, you will oversee delivery against designs, quality standards and safe working practices, coordinating with project teams and supply chain partners for efficient execution.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• CSCS Gold Card Supervisor or appropriate competence card, SSSTS/SMSTS, and full driving licence.
• Experience leading mechanical installations in industrial, water, wastewater or process-sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily mechanical installation activities to deliver safely, efficiently and on programme.
• Review drawings, specifications and documentation, escalating design or constructability issues promptly.
• Ensure works comply with approved safety systems, permit requirements, CDM Regulations and relevant standards.
• Coordinate mechanical isolations, confined-space activities, pressure testing and other controlled work.
• Mentor mechanical supervisors and team members, setting clear expectations and reinforcing consistent standards.
