Job summary

Northcote M&E in Milton Keynes is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design across RIBA stages and shape the office’s growth. You’ll drive LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and containment while mentoring junior engineers and coordinating with BIM teams.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Senior level consultancy design experience.
• Solid knowledge of BS 7671/BS 5839/BS 5266 and CIBSE guidance.
• Proficiency with Amtech, DIALux/Relux and AutoCAD; Revit MEP a plus.
• Confident running projects and client relationships.
• IEng/CEng or progression desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across RIBA stages: LV distribution, small power, lighting, emergency lighting, fire alarm, security and containment.
• Produce and check calculations, specifications, schematics and tender packages.
• Bring electrical expertise to low carbon and net zero strategies, including PV, battery storage and EV charging.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects and design teams in a BIM environment.
• Attend client and design team meetings, carry out site inspections and witness testing.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work.
