Job summary

Northcote M&E, a fast-growing M&E and low carbon consultancy, is seeking an Electrical Engineer for its Nottingham head office. You will design electrical systems across a varied project mix and contribute to low carbon solutions, working closely with the directors who founded the business.

You will design LV distribution, lighting, fire alarm, PV, battery storage and EV charging solutions, and collaborate with BIM teams while visiting sites for testing and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• Building services electrical design experience, ideally in a consultancy.
• Good knowledge of BS 7671, BS 5839 and BS 5266.
• Amtech, DIALux/Relux and AutoCAD; Revit MEP an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical services: LV distribution, small power, general and emergency lighting, fire alarm, access control and containment.
• Carry out cable sizing, voltage drop and protection calculations.
• Produce lighting designs and calculations.
• Contribute electrical design to low carbon projects, including PV, battery storage and EV charging.
• Prepare drawings, schematics and specifications.
• Coordinate with mechanical and design teams in BIM, and support site visits, testing and commissioning.
