Job summary

The Green Recruitment Company is seeking an experienced Principal Electrical Design Engineer & Team Lead to steer an electrical design team within a multidisciplinary MEP consultancy. You will lead design across RIBA stages, act as technical authority, and mentor engineers.

You will manage client relationships, oversee feasibility through construction, drive sustainability and net-zero design, and develop talent while delivering projects on time and to budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or related field.
• Membership of IET, CIBSE, or equivalent.
• Significant experience in Building Services/MEP consultancy.
• Knowledge of electrical standards and calculations.
• Experience leading design projects from concept to completion.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design across all RIBA stages for projects.
• Act as principal technical authority for electrical engineering.
• Review and sign off calculations, specs, drawings, and reports.
• Design LV distribution, lighting, fire alarms, data, renewables, and EV charging.
• Manage multiple projects to programme, budget, and quality.
• Lead client, contractor, and design team meetings.
• Mentor engineers and support recruitment and development.
