Job summary

Randstad Construction and Property is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for high-profile highways infrastructure, with a focus on DNO connections and EV charging. The role supports a flexible hybrid Manchester-based setup, including part-time or ad hoc hours.

You will lead technical input for DNO connection projects, translate EV load data into robust distribution designs, and develop electrical packages while coordinating with DNOs and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Electrical engineering degree or equivalent required.
• CEng/IEng status or working toward registration preferred.
• Experience with DNO connections and capacity upgrades.
• Strong LV/11kV distribution network knowledge including RMUs and feeder pillars.
• Proven ability to translate load data into connection specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical input for National Highways DNO connection projects across multiple sites.
• Translate EV charger counts and kVA requirements into connection specifications.
• Develop, review and check electrical packages for DNO connections (RMUs, LV pillars).
• Produce SLDs, load/cable schedules, equipment specs and datasheets.
• Act as technical contact with DNOs; review offers and expedite applications.
• Prioritise multi-site connection strategies across deadlines.
