Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer specializing in DNO connections and EV charging infra for a National Highways project. The role offers flexible hybrid working patterns (Manchester office / remote) and can accommodate part-time/adhoc hours for experienced engineers.

You will lead multi-site electrical inputs, translate charger loads into connection specs, and manage designs and liaison with DNOs while ensuring UK standards compliance.

Qualifications

• Relevant Electrical Engineering qualification (Degree, HND/HNC, or equivalent completed apprenticeship).
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status (or actively working toward professional registration).

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical input for National Highways DNO connection projects across multiple sites.
• Translate EV charger loads into robust connection specifications.
• Develop and review packages for DNO connections (RMUs, LV feeders).
• Produce SLDs, load schedules, cable schedules, equipment specs and datasheets.
• Act as primary technical contact with DNOs, review offers and expedite applications.
• Prioritise and manage multi-site connection strategies against deadlines.
