Job summary

Stockport Nub News is recruiting a Senior Electrical Engineer to support National Highways projects across the UK. You will deliver electrical infrastructure solutions for EV charging and power connections, reporting to the Principal Engineer and coordinating with DNOs, clients, and contractors.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chartered status or progress toward, and experience with DNO connections and LV/HV systems.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status or progress towards.
• Experience on DNO connections or power distribution projects.
• Knowledge of LV/HV distribution systems and equipment.
• Experience converting load requirements into practical solutions.
• Familiarity with DNO connection applications and studies.
• Strong understanding of UK electrical standards and safety.
• Experience managing multiple projects/sites simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing electrical engineering input to DNO connection projects across multiple sites.
• Reviewing EV charging load demand information and translating requirements into electrical connection solutions.
• Developing and checking designs for 11/0.4kV transformer-coupled RMUs and LV feeder pillars.
• Producing and reviewing electrical engineering documentation (loads, diagrams, specs).
• Supporting DNO connection applications and capacity upgrades.
• Reviewing DNO offers and identifying technical constraints and information needs.
• Assessing and prioritising multiple site connections and activities.
• Working with clients, consultants, contractors, DNOs and stakeholders.
