Job summary

Purosearch Ltd. is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to deliver electrical building services projects in a Birmingham-based role with hybrid working. You’ll own design from concept to completion, coordinate with clients and architects, and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative, employee-owned consultancy.

Qualifications

• A minimum HND qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years' relevant electrical building services design experience, operating at Senior level.
• Strong technical background in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Proven ability to independently manage projects from concept through to completion.
• Experience coordinating with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical regulations, design standards and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to take technical responsibility for projects and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Produce and review electrical calculations, drawings, specifications, reports and design documentation.

The Senior Electrical Engineer Opportunity

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of electrical building services projects, managing the design process from initial concept through to completion and post-completion stages.

You will have the autonomy to manage projects independently, working directly with clients, architects, contractors and other design professionals.

Alongside your technical responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to support and mentor less experienced engineers, contribute to project planning and play an important role in maintaining the consultancy's reputation for high-quality engineering design.

This position would suit an established Senior Electrical Engineer or an experienced Electrical Engineer who is already independently delivering projects and feels ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and independently manage electrical building services projects from concept through to post-completion.
• Take responsibility for electrical design quality, technical compliance and successful project delivery.

About You

• A minimum HND qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3–5 years' relevant electrical building services design experience, with sufficient experience to operate at Senior level.
• A strong technical background in electrical building services design within a consultancy environment.
• Proven ability to independently manage projects from concept through to completion.
• Experience coordinating with clients, architects, contractors and other engineering disciplines.
• Sound knowledge of relevant electrical regulations, design standards and industry best practice.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The confidence to take technical responsibility for projects and support less experienced colleagues.
