Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to deliver cutting-edge designs for energy storage, solar and grid connection projects, with a focus on BESS. You will work on large UK/Europe projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions at 11kV-400kV scales, while contributing to bid and project quality management.

This role emphasizes FEED, detailed design, and owner’s engineer responsibilities within a hybrid work model and a dynamic energy

Qualifications

• A Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Suitable experience in FEED, detailed design or owner’s engineer role.
• Good understanding of renewable generation and energy storage technology, particularly battery storage.
• Experience designing HV grid connections and BESS installations with renewables.
• Knowledge of grid connection requirements (G99, G100) and grid codes.
• Experience with consultancy, contractor, equipment manufacturer or energy utility in the energy sector.
• Familiarity with electrical plant items and control systems such as transformers, cables, circuit breakers, HV Protection & Control.

Responsibilities

• Work on large projects with renewable energy developers, mainly UK & Ireland.
• Undertake FEED and design for energy storage systems and grid connections.
• Support bidding, project and quality management.
• Design BESS balance of plant (BOP) systems.
• Develop grid connection solutions (11kV-400kV) for energy storage and renewables.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and clients to deliver innovative solutions.
• Support the team with bidding, project and quality management.
