Job summary

MWH Treatment in the UK North Division seeks a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to lead complex electrical design across major water and wastewater projects. You will shape technical strategy, review designs, mentor engineers and support bids, delivering safe, compliant and cost-effective solutions.

You will collaborate with discipline leads, project managers and clients to ensure delivery excellence and governance throughout the project lifecycle, from brief to handover.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng/MEng) or equivalent.
• Significant experience delivering electrical design solutions in UK water/wastewater.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the delivery of complex electrical engineering designs within the water and wastewater sector.
• Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop innovative, practical and risk-balanced engineering solutions.
• Ensure all electrical designs are safe, compliant, buildable and cost-effective.
• Produce, review and approve electrical calculations, specifications, reports, drawings and design documentation.
• Support major project bids and contribute to successful project delivery strategies.
• Act as a technical reviewer and maintain high standards of governance and quality assurance.
• Manage technical delivery from high-level project briefs, balancing programme, cost, quality and resource requirements.
• Identify, assess and manage technical risks, ensuring issues are addressed proactively.
• Work closely with clients, contractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
• Support and mentor engineers and designers, helping to develop technical capability across the business.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, safety, customer focus and engineering excellence.
