Job summary

Equans Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Decarbonisation & Energy Solutions) to join our Manchester team. The role focuses on LV electrical design for low-carbon energy solutions including solar PV, battery storage, LED lighting, and building power infrastructure.

You will provide technical leadership, design coordination, and mentoring within a multidisciplinary team, delivering projects from RIBA Stage 2 to 5 and coordinating with DNOs and contractors.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working towards.
• Experience in design and design management for sustainable retrofit and low-carbon projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality electrical designs for decarbonisation and energy retrofit projects.
• Lead design packages on multi-disciplinary projects and coordinate with mechanical/energy systems.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive BIM coordination and QA of designs.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications across RIBA stages 2–5.
