Job summary

adi Group in Wirral/Liverpool seeks a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead detailed electrical designs for automation and industrial control projects. You will deliver designs, mentor engineers, and ensure safety and standards compliance.

You’ll specialise in EPLAN/AutoCAD Electrical, PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems, driving projects from concept to commissioning with strong problem solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in electrical design within automation or industrial control systems.
• Experience designing complete electrical control systems from concept through to commissioning.
• Proficiency with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings using EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
• Liaise with clients to understand requirements and provide engineering solutions, quotations, and technical proposals.
• Ensure designs are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical standards.
• Support the design and delivery of Control & LV Switchgear Panels and cabling installations.
• Provide technical support throughout project delivery, manufacture, and commissioning.
• Review and approve design submissions to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Mentor and support junior engineers where required.
