Job summary

adi Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our automation team in Wirral. You will deliver detailed electrical designs, lead project delivery and provide technical guidance across industrial automation projects.

You will produce designs with EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical, liaise with clients, ensure safety and standards, support switchgear panels, and mentor junior engineers throughout project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical design within automation or industrial control systems.
• Experience designing complete electrical control systems from concept through commissioning.
• Proficiency with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and motor control systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our automation team. You will be responsible for delivering detailed electrical designs, supporting project delivery, and providing technical leadership across a range of industrial and automation projects.

Specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

• Produce detailed electrical designs, calculations, specifications, and drawings using EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.

About you
