Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd in Surrey seeks a Senior Electrical & Controls Design Engineer to own electrical design across new and existing products, including architectures, single-line diagrams, schematics and control panels.

You will produce manufacturing documentation, perform FAT testing and commissioning, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. The role requires hands-on experience with electrical/control systems and familiarity with BS7671 and EN 60204.

Qualifications

• Degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
• Hands-on experience designing electrical and control systems for industrial machinery or process applications.
• Experience producing electrical schematics, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams and manufacturing documentation.
• Knowledge of LV distribution, protection, cable sizing and component selection.
• Working knowledge of BS7671 and EN 60204.
• Experience using electrical CAD software (EPLAN / AutoCAD Electrical / SolidWorks Electrical).
• Experience selecting/configuring PLC hardware, ideally Siemens.
• Involvement in equipment builds, testing, commissioning or troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design activities across new and existing products; develop architectures, single-line diagrams, schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Produce manufacturing documentation: panel layouts, cable schedules, terminal schedules and component specs.
• Support panel builds, FAT testing, commissioning and on-site troubleshooting as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
