Job summary

Tec Partners Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Electrical Controls & Design Engineer to design electrical control systems, panels and LV switchgear, and to manage projects from initial design through to manufacture, testing and commissioning. The role requires strong EPLAN and AutoCAD expertise, PLC/HMI programming and commissioning experience, and knowledge of LV switchgear.

Occasional UK travel and a dynamic, growing environment are offered with training and development

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience in industrial automation, controls or electrical design.
• Strong EPLAN and AutoCAD experience.
• PLC/HMI programming and commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of LV switchgear and control panel design.
• Full UK driving licence.

• Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, FDS and technical documentation.
• Prepare quotations, estimates and project documentation.

• Provide post-installation technical and call-out support.

Our client is a well-established and growing Control Systems Engineering and Manufacturing business, delivering electrical, automation and control solutions across a range of industrial sectors.

They are looking for an experienced Electrical Controls & Design Engineer to join their team, working on projects from initial design through to manufacture, testing and commissioning.

The Role

• Design electrical control systems, control panels and LV switchgear using EPLAN and AutoCAD.
• Manage projects from enquiry through to commissioning.
• Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts, FDS and technical documentation.
• Prepare quotations, estimates and project documentation.
• Support PLC/HMI programming, FAT, commissioning and fault finding.
• Specify hardware to UKCA/CE requirements; UL 508A knowledge would be advantageous.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and subcontractors throughout projects.
• Provide post-installation technical and call-out support.
• Occasional UK travel and overnight stays.

About You

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience in industrial automation, controls or electrical design.
• Strong EPLAN and AutoCAD experience.
• PLC/HMI programming and commissioning experience.
• Knowledge of LV switchgear and control panel design.
• Good communication and project management skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Galaxy 3 / Cubic software, UL 508A and pneumatic design experience.
