Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd, a Surrey-based Green Tech/Renewable Energy business, seeks a Senior Electrical & Controls Design Engineer to take ownership of electrical design across products, including architectures, schematics, and control panels.

You will produce manufacturing docs, lead FAT testing and commissioning, and guide junior engineers, with a salary up to £70,000 and a 5% bonus. Sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• A degree or relevant qualification in electrical Engineering or a related discipline
• Hands-on experience designing electrical and control systems for industrial machinery, packaged equipment or process applications
• Experience personally producing electrical schematics, control panel layouts, wiring diagrams and associated manufacturing documentation
• Knowledge of LV electrical distribution, protection, cable sizing and component selection
• Working knowledge of BS7671 and EN 60204
• Experience using electrical CAD software such as EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical or SolidWorks Electrical
• Experience selecting and configuring PLC hardware, ideally Siemens
• Practical involvement in equipment builds, testing, commissioning or troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Own electrical design activities across new and existing products
• Develop electrical architectures, single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams and detailed control-panel designs
• Produce manufacturing documentation including panel layouts, cable schedules, terminal schedules and component specifications
• Select electrical equipment and support panel builds
• Prepare design specifications, FAT testing and commissioning

A Surrey-Based Green Tech/Renewable Energy business is on the hunt for a Senior Electrical & Controls Design Engineer to join their vastly expanding team.

As the Senior Electrical & Controls Design Engineer, you will be responsible for taking ownership of electrical design activities across new and existing products, including developing electrical architectures, single-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and detailed control-panel designs. Additionally, you will be required to produce manufacturing documentation, including panel layouts, cable schedules, terminal schedules and component specifications, selecting electrical equipment, support panel builds, preparing design specifications, FAT testing and commissioning, and providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
