Job summary

Recruit Engineering is seeking an Electrical Controls Design Engineer to join our growing team in Suffolk/East Anglia. You will design electrical control systems, develop schematics and BOMs, and support installation and commissioning on automated projects.

The role emphasizes CAD work, PLCs and automation knowledge, with opportunities for ongoing training and career development in a dynamic engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Electrical Controls Design experience.
• Industrial Control Panel Design experience.
• Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs and automation systems.
• Electrical CAD experience.
• Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems and industrial control panels.
• Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support component selection.
• Perform electrical load calculations and design verification.
• Support manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and value-engineering initiatives.
• Work closely with project, manufacturing and installation teams.

The Role

• Design electrical control systems and industrial control panels
• Produce electrical schematics, panel layouts and technical documentation
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and support component selection
• Perform electrical load calculations and design verification
• Support manufacturing, installation and commissioning activities

Skills & Experience

• Electrical Controls Design experience

• EPLAN P8 experience preferred

Desirable

• EPLAN Pro Panel
• Siemens or Beckhoff systems
• UL508A knowledge
• Functional Safety (ISO13849 / IEC62061)
