Job summary

Automation Experts is seeking an experienced Electrical Design & Control Engineer to own automation projects from design through commissioning. You will produce electrical schematics, control panel layouts and LV switchgear designs using EPLAN and AutoCAD, and prepare FDS, quotations and technical docs.

The role requires hardware development to UKCA/CE standards, PLC/HMI support, FAT and fault-finding, plus travel across the UK. A driving licence is essential for visiting sites.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in industrial automation, controls and electrical design.
• Strong EPLAN and AutoCAD experience.
• PLC/HMI programming advantageous, but not essential - training available.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from enquiry through design, build and commissioning.

• Provide post-installation and call-out support alongside general project engineering duties.

Due to continued growth, an excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing team delivering bespoke automation, control systems and LV switchgear solutions across a range of industrial applications.

The Role

What We're Looking For

• Galaxy 3/Cubic software experience would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of pneumatic systems and LV switchgear.
• Strong communication, organisation and project management skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the UK.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer looking for greater project ownership, technical variety and long-term progression.

Located in Norfolk, this role would be commutable from Norwich, King's Lynn, Dereham, Attleborough and other surrounding areas.
