Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking Senior Electrical & Control Engineers to join our Water Utilities Division across the UK, including Leeds. You will work on water treatment, distribution, wastewater and desalination projects within AMP8, from feasibility studies to commissioning.

You will design LV/HV power distribution, control systems, SCADA, and generation integration, while mentoring colleagues and ensuring compliance with current legislation.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body.
• Experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental issues.
• Experience in the water and/or wastewater industry.
• Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics and/or water and wastewater treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake a wide range of electrical & control tasks across water projects.
• Electrical power distribution design (LV and HV) and control system design.
• Design and specification of communications networks and SCADA; generation integration.
• Develop plant layouts, cabling and installation design, instrumentation selection.
• Write system control strategies; conduct factory and site acceptance tests.
• Mentor other electrical engineers and provide technical direction on projects.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose and comply with legislation and standards.
• Integrate electrical & control design with other disciplines; collaborate with clients/contractors.
