Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Electrical & Control Engineer to join the Water Utilities Division in the UK. You will contribute to multiple project phases, from feasibility to handover, and mentor junior engineers.

The role covers electrical power distribution, control systems, SCADA, and integration with other disciplines across water/wastewater projects. Hybrid working is offered, with opportunities for career progression.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body.
• Experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental issues.
• Experience in water and/or wastewater industry.
• Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics and/or water and wastewater treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Electrical power distribution design (LV and HV).
• Control system design.
• Design and specification of communications networks and SCADA.
• Specifying renewable and back-up generation systems.
• Developing plant layouts.
• Cabling and installation design.
• Instrumentation selection.
• Writing system control strategies.
• Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment.
• Mentoring to other electrical engineers; providing technical direction to projects.
• Ensuring designs meet current legislation and standards.
• Integrating electrical and control design with other disciplines.
