Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking Senior Electrical & Control Engineers to join the Water Utilities Division in the UK. The role covers water treatment, distribution, and wastewater projects across the project life cycle, offering opportunities to shape designs, mentor colleagues, and deliver technically challenging solutions.

You will work in a hybrid model with clients and contractors, contributing to AMP8 investment-driven growth and shaping the future of water infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HND level or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status with the Institution of Engineering and Technology or an equivalent body.
• Experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy.
• Understanding of health, safety, and environmental issues.
• Experience in the water and/or wastewater industry.
• Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics and/or water and wastewater treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Electrical power distribution design (LV and HV).
• Control system design and integration with other disciplines.
• Design and specification of communications networks and SCADA.
• Specifying renewable and back-up generation systems.
• Developing plant layouts and wiring/installation design.
• Instrumentation selection and writing system control strategies.
• Factory and site acceptance tests of equipment.
• Mentoring to other electrical engineers and providing technical direction on projects.
• Ensure designs meet current legislation and can be integrated with other disciplines.
