Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking Senior Electrical & Control Engineers for its Water Utilities Division in the UK. The role covers electrical power distribution, control systems design, SCADA, and integration with multidisciplinary teams. You will mentor junior engineers and ensure designs meet regulatory standards.

The position offers hybrid working arrangements and a clear path towards leadership and technical excellence within a reputable global engineering group.

Qualifications

• HND or higher in electrical, electronic or control engineering or a related discipline.
• Chartered status with IET or equivalent body.
• Experience in electrical and/or control engineering design/consultancy.
• Understanding of health, safety and environmental issues.
• Experience in the water and/or wastewater industry.
• Good understanding of pipeline hydraulics and/or water/wastewater treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical & control tasks including power distribution design (LV/HV).
• Design and specify control systems and SCADA networks.
• Develop plant layouts and cabling/installation designs.
• Write system control strategies and perform tests (factory/site).
• Mentor other electrical engineers and provide technical direction.
• Ensure designs meet current legislation and integrate with other disciplines.

Skills

Electrical/Control engineering design

Chartered status (IET)

Water/wastewater industry experience

HND or higher in electrical/electronic

Health, safety & environment awareness

Hydraulics/water treatment knowledge

Education

Master's degree in electrical/electronic/controls
