Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Principal electrical Building Services Engineer to join our Energy Networks team. You will deliver building services designs for energy infrastructure, coordinating with multiple disciplines and delivering robust, sustainable solutions across UK and international projects.

The role requires Chartered status or progression toward chartership, and a proactive, collaborative approach to problem solving within a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
• Chartered Engineer status, or working towards chartership
• Experience delivering building services design within regulated environments
• Ability to produce and review technical reports, calculations and design documentation
• Experience using industry-standard design software and engineering tools
• Strong understanding of British and European standards, regulations and best practice

Responsibilities

• Deliver building services designs for energy infrastructure and industrial facilities
• Prepare technical documentation including basis of design reports, specifications, assessments, condition reports and procurement documents
• Develop and review detailed design drawings, layouts and schematics for HVAC, electrical building services and related infrastructure
• Collaborate with protection and control, civil, structural, primary plant and other engineering disciplines
• Support the development of sustainable, energy-efficient and resilient building services solutions
• Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals and fee estimates
• Manage and coordinate project deliverables to agreed quality, budget and programme requirements
• Engage with clients, contractors and other stakeholders throughout project delivery
• Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and graduates
