Job summary

Mott MacDonald seeks a Principal electrical Building Services Engineer to join our Energy Networks team and help deliver building services designs for energy infrastructure across the UK and internationally.

You will work within multidisciplinary teams to develop sustainable, efficient solutions, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to bids and project delivery in a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership with a professional institution (CIBSE, IET, IMechE).
• Experience delivering building services design in highly regulated environments.
• Ability to produce and review technical reports, specifications, calculations and design documentation.
• Experience using industry-standard design software and engineering tools.
• Strong understanding of British/European standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building services engineering designs for energy infrastructure and industrial facilities.
• Produce and review detailed design calculations to support project requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation including basis of design reports, specifications, assessments and procurement documents.
• Develop and review detailed design drawings, layouts and schematics for HVAC, electrical building services and related systems.
• Collaborate with protection and control, civil, structural, and other disciplines.
• Support development of sustainable, energy-efficient, and resilient building services solutions.
• Assist in bids, proposals and fee estimates.
• Manage and coordinate project deliverables to meet quality, budget and schedule.
