Job summary

Senior or Principal Electrical Building Services Design Engineer in Bristol (Hybrid Working) is sought by an independent consultancy. You will lead electrical design across diverse projects, deliver layouts, calculations and specifications, and mentor junior engineers.

The role focuses on coordinating with clients and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring regulatory compliance and driving energy-efficient, low-carbon solutions while supporting growth and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical/Building Services Engineering.
• Experience with LV distribution, lighting, load assessments and protection.
• Knowledge of 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations and relevant standards.
• Experience using electrical design software such as Amtech, ElectricalOM, DIALux/Relux, Hevacomp, AutoCAD, Revit.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design from concept through to completion.
• Produce and coordinate drawings, specifications, calculations and technical documents.
• Manage client relationships and coordinate with architects, consultants and contractors.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure quality of deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and support their development.
• Contribute to business development and bid activity.
