Job summary

Amey, a leading UK infrastructure consultancy, seeks a Principal Building Services Engineer - Electrical to provide technical leadership across complex multidisciplinary projects. You will lead design and delivery of electrical building services, manage teams, and develop client relationships while supporting business growth and project delivery excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent
• Membership of IET, CIBSE or equivalent
• Extensive experience delivering electrical building services projects
• Strong understanding of power distribution, lighting, alarms and security systems
• Knowledge of Building Regulations and BS standards
• Experience with design reviews and technical assurance
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and BIM tools

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead providing expert advice to teams, managers, clients and suppliers
• Lead design and delivery of electrical building services across projects
• Manage preparation and checking of calculations, specs, drawings and reports
• Ensure delivery meets quality, schedule and budget objectives
• Lead electrical design across Defence, Justice, Education, Rail and infrastructure
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage interfaces
• Develop client relationships and support business development
• Mentor engineers and support professional development
• Undertake risk management and ensure CDM compliance
• Support resource planning and technical assurance
• Lead bid submissions and framework opportunities
