Job summary

Galliford Try Group seeks an Electrical Authorising Engineer to lead electrical safety across the Environment Division for Water projects. You will assess, appoint and audit Electrical Authorised Persons and mentor teams to uphold safety standards throughout delivery.

You will ensure compliance with Electrical Safety Standards and advise on contractor procurement, while supporting CDM compliance and safety culture across projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated high level knowledge of LV/HV Electrical, Control & Instrumentation equipment.
• Experience as Electrical Authorised Person/Authorising Engineer.
• Experience in Municipal Water and Wastewater industries.
• Reporting on engineering safety risks to senior management.
• HV experience desirable.
• DSEAR knowledge and BS7671 18th Edition knowledge.
• Degree level in Engineering or equivalent preferable.
• +7 years in Municipal Water/Wastewater with diverse clients.
• Chartered status preferred.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor preferable.
• NEBOSH preferable.

Responsibilities

• Act as Point of Contact for Electrical Safety within Environment Division.
• Provide advice and support on electrical safety to stakeholders.
• Ensure activities align with statutory regulation and legislation.
• Maintain high level technical knowledge of electrical safety.
• Coach and mentor others in safety best practices.
• Set and assess competence standards for Authorised Persons and Nominated Persons.
• Review safe systems of work for delivery by Galliford Try Environment Division.
• Oversee subcontractors’ documentation from safety perspective.
• Support incident investigations for electrical safety.
• Lead on safe and effective implementation of engineering safety across projects.
