Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking an enthusiastic EHE (Elective Home Education) practitioner to support safeguarding and children’s wellbeing. You’ll work with home educators to assess provision, provide curriculum guidance, and collaborate with schools and professionals to achieve positive educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in engaging with families and providing information and guidance.
• Ability to assess parental provision and educational needs.
• Knowledge of curriculum levels, progress and SEN considerations.

Responsibilities

• Support Local Authority statutory functions for home education by assessing parental provision.
• Provide information, advice and signposting to parents choosing home education.
• Complete holistic assessments and annual reviews of educational provision.
• Offer personalised curriculum guidance to ensure suitable provision.
• Liaise with schools and professionals on EHE policy and practice.
• Deliver curriculum guidance sessions to families and conduct home visits.
• Maintain records and required data for caseloads and safeguarding.
