Job summary

Sheffield City Council is seeking motivated practitioners for the Intensive Family Support Team in the South of Sheffield, covering city-wide work. You will build trusted relationships with children and families, manage challenging behaviours and coordinate with partner agencies to keep children safe at home whenever possible.

The role focuses on compassionate, strengths-based support, with exposure to safeguarding legislation, and opportunities to work across health, education and social care

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Children Act and Leaving Care legislation.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with multi-agency partners.
• Experience in direct work with vulnerable children and families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intensive one-to-one work with children and parents.
• Help families make positive changes so children can remain safely at home.
• Improve children's educational attendance, behaviour and attainment.
• Support families to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour.
• Help young people and parents improve employment prospects.
• Work with health, education, training and placement services to coordinate support.
