Sheffield City Council is recruiting a Family Intervention Worker for the Elective Home Education Service. The role supports safeguarding and the educational wellbeing of children educated at home, working with families to explain EHE processes and options.

You will liaise with schools and professionals, signpost to support services, and maintain pupil records while prioritising safeguarding needs. The post is hybrid, involving office, home, and travel across Sheffield.

Formación

• GCSEs Maths and English (grade 9-4) or equivalent.
• Significant experience of working with vulnerable children and their families, promoting engagement and understanding family dynamics and risk.

Responsabilidades

• Conduct wellbeing visits with EHE families to explain the EHE role, provide information and advice regarding processes and criteria.
• Liaise with professionals to find alternative educational options and make onward referrals.
• Signpost home educators to additional support and provide links to SENDs, CME, admissions, SSENDIAS, etc.
• Oversee referral documentation and EHE notifications with schools and professionals.
• Complete pupil mapping and RAG rating.
• Attend meetings to advocate for the child and provide information to professionals or parents.
• Respond to non-engagement and undertake planned and unannounced visits.
• Support pupil transitions between school, college or home.
• Develop understanding of EHE frameworks and policies and relevant agency referral processes.
• Maintain pupil records, case files and reports.
