Job summary

SUEZ is seeking an EfW Senior Operations Technician for the Cornwall Energy Recovery Centre. You will monitor, control and optimise EfW plant operations to maximise availability and performance, troubleshoot issues and support safe, compliant site activities.

The role offers 4 on 4 off 12‑hour shifts (days/nights), a salary of £40,583‑£44,432 plus 20% shift allowance, up to 10% annual bonus, life assurance and a pension. Interviews commence 1 June onwards, with a structured development pathway.

Qualifications

• Background in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering to HNC level or equivalent.
• Experience in an EfW plant or similar process environment.
• Willingness to achieve BOAS, NEBOSH and root-cause analysis training.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring, controlling and optimising EfW plant operations to maximise availability and performance.
• Troubleshooting issues, adjusting processes, keeping logs and carrying out sampling.
• Operating waste cranes and supporting safe, environmentally compliant site activities.
• Deputising for the Shift Manager when required, gaining leadership and decision‑making experience.
• Actively contributing to a positive safety culture and continuous improvement.
