Job summary

Sense College in Knapwell is seeking a Senior Education Support Worker to join our employability programme, working 7 hours per week with a small group of students aged 16–25 with diverse learning, sensory and physical needs. You will support students on work placements, employability sessions and careers activities, using assessments to plan learning and promoting positive behaviour.

Level 3 Award in Education and Training or progress towards it is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold or working towards Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
• Experience in teaching environment.
• Understand needs of young people with special education needs.
• Ability to use assessment to plan and review learning.
• Ability to support students with positive behavioural support.
• Level 2 English and Maths is an essential requirement.

Responsibilities

• Support students on work placements and employability sessions.
• Assist with careers activities and transition planning.

Could you be a Senior Education Support Worker?

We now have an opportunity for a Senior Education Support Worker to join our Sense College in Knapwell working 7 hours per week.

As a Senior Education Support Worker at Sense College you will be working with a small group of students aged 16-25 with a range of learning, sensory and physical disabilities. The successful candidate will work as part of the employment programme, working with students supporting them on work placements, employability sessions and careers activities. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join a growing team where you will play a pivotal role in supporting students in reaching their aspirational goals.

Your required skills and experiences;

• Hold or willing to work towards Level 3 Award in Education and Training
• Experience in teaching environment
• Have an understanding of the needs of young people with a range of special education needs
• Ability to use assessment to plan and review learning
• Ability to support students with positive behavioural support
• Level 2 (or equivalent) in English and Maths is an essential requirement for this role.
