Overview

Senior Ecologist — £35,000 - £45,000 — Essex, UK (hybrid)

Allen & York are thrilled to be working with a multidisciplinary consultancy, providing ecological, arboricultural, and landscape services to a variety of high-profile clients across a diverse range of sectors in the UK.

Our client is looking for a passionate Senior Ecologist to join the Ecology team.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver a variety of projects and protected species surveys, from project inception through to completion.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in ecology
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM)
  • Experience in a similar role, with the ability to demonstrate success in managing multifaceted projects
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of ecology-related legislation and policy and its practical application in a UK context
  • Broad knowledge of ecological survey/assessment methods, including good habitat survey and classification skills in a wide range of environments
  • Strong species identification skills across a range of taxonomic groups
  • Experience providing technical assistance and training to less experienced colleagues or non-specialist staff
  • Excellent communicator, self-motivated and organised, with the ability to multi-task and work collaboratively
  • Full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle
