Job summary

North Ayrshire Leisure Limited is seeking a Duty Manager to lead shifts at Vikingar Leisure Centre, Largs. You will supervise staff across leisure, attraction, theatre and hospitality services, ensuring safe, high-quality visitor experiences in line with company policy.

You will drive smooth day-to-day delivery of programmes and events, coaching teams, and maintaining high standards of safety and presentation. Evening/weekend support is required.

Qualifications

• Essential leadership/ management qualification or equivalent management experience.
• Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD).
• Desirable: IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
• Desirable: PPO or equivalent Pool Plant Operators Certificate.
• Desirable: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise operational staff during shifts across leisure, attraction, theatre and hospitality services.
• Ensure smooth delivery of programmes, events, and visitor activities.
• Respond to operational issues, incidents and emergencies following procedures.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, maintenance and presentation.
• Ensure activities comply with health & safety, safeguarding and statutory regulations.
• Deliver an exceptional visitor and customer experience.
• Monitor service quality and respond to feedback professionally.
• Act as a visible ambassador for KA Leisure during shifts.
• Supervise and coach staff, ensuring adherence to policies and standards.
• Monitor KPIs and report issues; contribute ideas for improvements.
• Maintain clear communication with the management team and complete logs and reports.
