Job summary

MDA Space seeks a Sr. DSP Firmware Engineer to join our UK team. You will develop space telecommunication payloads, implement DSP algorithms, and produce firmware concepts from ICDs and requirements.

The role involves HDL coding, testing, and troubleshooting hardware/software for space missions, with hybrid work options. The ideal candidate has a degree in a related field, 5+ years in signal processing on FPGA, strong VHDL/Verilog skills, and experience with FPGA verification and configuration

Qualifications

• University degree in an analytical or quantitative field.
• Minimum 5 years in signal processing design and FPGA implementation.
• Strong VHDL/Verilog coding skills and FPGA test experience.
• Experience with formal configuration control methods.
• Desirable C/C++ for SoC cores and/or vector processors.

Responsibilities

• Develop space telemetry payloads, instruments, and sensors.
• Design, simulate and implement DSP algorithms for telecoms and sensing.
• Create firmware concepts from ICDs and requirements.
• Produce formal firmware requirements when needed.
• HDL coding (VHDL/Verilog), implementation, and testing.
• Troubleshoot hardware/software for space missions.
• Maintain and extend existing products.
