Job summary

WSP UK is seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Infrastructure Planning team to support town planning and consenting inputs on major projects. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to secure consent under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, Planning Act 2008 and Transport and Works Act Order.

We value strong leadership, client management and expert witness experience, with RTPI membership and a degree in town planning.

Qualifications

• Degree in town planning (or equivalent) with RTPI membership.
• Experience leading consent and planning applications.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex interfaces.
• Strong communication, negotiation and client liaison skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the town planning or consenting inputs on major infrastructure projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs).
• Provide strategic technical leadership and advice to clients on consenting requirements.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of consent applications under planning acts and regimes.
• Act as Project Director for Infrastructure Planning projects and manage client expectations.
• Represent the team as Planning Expert Witness at examinations or hearings.
• Lead complex negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders on behalf of clients.
