Job summary

WSP, a global engineering and professional services firm, seeks an experienced Senior Consultant to lead town planning and consenting inputs on major and nationally significant infrastructure projects in the UK. You will work within multi-disciplinary teams to secure consent under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and Planning Act 2008, guiding clients through complex approvals.

Qualifications

• Degree in town planning (or equivalent)
• Member of RTPI
• Leading consenting inputs on major projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs)
• Strong technical leadership and advice to clients
• Co-ordinating preparation and submission of consent applications
• Acting as Project Director forInfrastructure Planning projects
• Leading complex negotiations with statutory bodies
• Experience in Planning Act regimes
• Experience with securing consents for major projects

Responsibilities

• Lead consenting inputs on major projects (DCOs, DNSs, TWAOs)
• Provide technical leadership and client advisory
• Coordinate submission of consent applications under Town & Country Planning Acts and Planning Act 2008
• Act as Project Director for Infrastructure Planning projects
• Lead negotiations with statutory bodies and stakeholders
• Act as Planning Expert Witness at examinations or hearings
• Support pursuit of new work aligned with growth strategy
• Mentor and line-manage colleagues on delivery of projects
