Job summary

Gartner is seeking a Senior Director, Analyst in the BTI group to lead influential insights across North America and EMEA. You will guide research, shape a research agenda, and engage clients through in-person and virtual meetings, conferences, and sales support visits.

The role requires deep ITSM expertise, leadership in large deployments (ServiceNow, BMC), and strong writing/presentation skills to influence clients and Gartner leaders globally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
• 12+ years of ITSM and IT operations experience.
• Evidence of leading or significant role on large ITSM platform deployments (ServiceNow, BMC, etc).
• Deep practitioner experience in ITSM, IT operations, and CMDB governance.
• Experience integrating AI and automation into service delivery.
• Strong ability to map assets and dependencies to optimize CMDB initiatives.
• Knowledge of DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or agile product teams.
• Executive presence and credibility with senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative, thought-provoking, and highly leveraged insights content.
• Develop new insights through thought leadership to meet client needs.
• Analyze root causes of client barriers and reframing strategies.
• Demonstrate thought leadership across a team of analysts.
• Provide provocative, independent insights to guide research agendas.
• Research, analyze, and predict market trends for actionable insights.
• Offer clients advice aligned to content areas via virtual or face-to-face meetings.
• Create high-value presentation materials for Gartner events and client briefings.
• Support BTI and Sales by voicing market insights to drive client engagement.
• Provide high-quality content peer reviews and maintain credibility as an industry expert.
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate across the insights community.
• Identify process improvements to enhance service delivery for BTI and teams.
