Job summary

Gartner is seeking a Senior Director in the Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group to lead application security thought leadership and client engagement at global levels. You will produce pragmatic insights, work with CIOs and business leaders to drive security strategy, and represent Gartner's research methodologies across the organization.

You will develop innovative content, mentor junior analysts, and collaborate with sales to grow Gartner’s client impact while traveling up to 25%

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; graduate degree preferred.
• 12+ years in application security, enterprise apps, or IT leadership.
• Experience with CIOs/Heads of IT and business leaders on security strategy delivering business value.
• Strong ability to articulate role of security tech in delivering business value.
• Experience leading application security teams and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Create must‑have insights content and thought leadership.
• Develop new insights and actionable approaches to client needs.
• Analyze root causes to drive strategy forward.
• Establish insights positions across analyst teams.
• Provide provocative independent insights to influence research agenda.
• Research, analyze and predict market trends for clients and vendors.
• Offer actionable advice to clients via virtual or in-person meetings.
• Create high‑value presentation materials for Gartner events and briefings.
• Support sales with market voice to engage clients and drive growth.
• Provide quality content peer review and mentor junior team members.
• Represent Gartner insights, methodology, and strategy to stakeholders.
• Collaborate across teams to improve research processes.
