Job description

Job summary

LGT IT is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Senior Digital Lead Technician/Projects. The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of IT Infrastructure Systems and work closely with the IT Project Management Team as the Technical Lead for IT Project support throughout the Trust.

They will also be responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of all LGT's Client/Server environment, desktop configurations, and servers, and will assist the Infrastructure & Development Manager in the installation and implementation of all changes to the said environment.

Main duties of the job
  1. IT Infrastructure Management, Security, Development, and Enhancement
  2. To provide advice and support on technical issues associated with proposed projects, starting at the feasibility stage and continuing through procurement, testing, and implementation to the post-implementation review.
  3. To ensure all hand-over procedures between the Systems Delivery Group and Technical Computer Services affecting the network are completed and signed off.
  4. To support LGT's Active Directory, Azure Platform, Intune, MECM, and other laptop configuration tools, patch servers and workstations, and maintain cybersecurity of the IT systems at LGT.
  5. To ensure Change Control procedures are followed, raising CCNs appropriately.
  6. To stay updated with technological developments, particularly NHS IM&T, and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  7. To provide technical input for the specification, design, implementation, and development of the Trust's network infrastructure and IT projects.
  8. To evaluate new technologies and recommend strategic investments.
  9. To manage the day-to-day handling of all infrastructure calls assigned by the IT service desk.
  10. Line management of reporting staff in accordance with LGT's policies and standards.
