The OpportunityWe have an exciting opportunity for a Structural Technician to join one of our teams in our London office. Our team has worked on a range of prestigious and innovative building projects across sectors, including commercial, residential, aviation, and rail.
This flourishing team is part of the Property, Science & Industry Portfolio in London. It has developed strong relationships with key clients and architects across London, the UK, and the Middle East.
Current focus areas for the team include high-rise, repurposing and refurbishment, transport hubs, low and zero-carbon buildings, sustainable social housing, and large-scale concept technical master planning. The team is working on exciting projects such as Athens Airport, Euston Station Redevelopment, and Sagrada Familia, with more large-scale projects on the horizon.
Based in London but working closely with teams across the UK and beyond, you will be part of a dynamic team working on diverse projects across various sectors. You will also have the opportunity to train and further develop your domain skills, including BIM and Digital:
- Work with the structural team on producing high-quality, data-rich 3D models and drawings.
- Take ownership of drawing packages on projects from concept through to completion.
- Mentor staff, including apprentices and graduates.
- Coordinate the design and collaborate with other disciplines and specialisms, both internally and externally.
- Contribute to modelling standards, methods and procedures.
- Manage information on Common Data Environments.
- Seek pragmatic digital solutions to improve our working practices.
Is this role right for you?We are looking for a candidate who:
- Achieved a qualification in Civil Engineering
- Experience in the AEC industry, preferably within a design consultancy, is preferred.
- A solid understanding of structural design fundamentals and the ability to collaborate with engineers and designers to develop and refine structural designs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Background in working on major building projects of medium to large scale, delivering steelwork and reinforced concrete projects.
