Job summary

Shivom Consultancy Ltd. in London is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead a data migration project from legacy databases to AWS.

The role focuses on building scalable infrastructure, automation, and secure processes, while mentoring peers and communicating with non-technical stakeholders. You will design Terraform-based infrastructure, implement CI/CD with GitLab, manage IAM and security controls, and ensure compliant, zero-trust operations across S3, RDS (Oracle), and Glue.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps with a strong AWS focus.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Proficiency with GitLab CI for CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with AWS services including S3, RDS (Oracle), AWS Glue, IAM, and AWS Fargate.
• Experience implementing Zero Access automation and CI/CD automation.
• Strong customer-facing skills with excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Must have Active SC clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable AWS infrastructure for data migration.
• Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform to provision resources.
• Establish and enforce IAM policies for secure access management.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI for migrations and testing.
• Support deployment, testing, and automation workflows.
• Implement Zero Access automation to enhance security and compliance.
• Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams and mentor juniors.
• Prepare runbooks and assist in live application support.
• Communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
