Job summary

Shivom Consultancy Ltd. in Central London is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to own cloud and on‑prem infrastructure, provide leadership, and drive the architecture of a critical customer platform.

You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with customers to shape infrastructure strategy. The role includes an out‑of‑hours support rota for the production environment and occasional travel to data centres and offices (3–4 times per month).

Qualifications

• Cloud and on-prem infrastructure design, and ownership.
• Hands-on AWS and Azure architecture, cost management, security best practices.
• Hybrid cloud experience with VMware in on-premises environments.
• Production-grade Docker and Kubernetes cluster management.
• CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
• GitLab for version control and pipeline integration.
• Proficient Python/Go/Bash scripting with production-quality code.
• Strong Linux system administration and Windows Server 2016+ proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and build of infrastructure solutions with clear technical direction.
• Own cloud and on-prem environments end-to-end focusing on security, resilience, and performance.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and perform reviews of code and infrastructure.
• Drive platform automation to reduce manual toil and improve deployment pipelines.
• Act as escalation point for complex incidents; lead root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with customers/stakeholders to define requirements and present solutions.
• Participate in scheduled out-of-hours production support rota.
• Travel to data centres and offices ~3–4 times per month.
