Job summary

Target Group in the UK is seeking a Senior DevOps Cloud Engineer to lead our cloud and platform journey on AWS. This permanent, hybrid role combines hands-on technical leadership with shaping engineering standards and mentoring others to build secure, scalable infrastructure.

You will design and optimise cloud architectures, drive automation with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD, and partner with security and SRE teams to raise reliability and efficiency across our services.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on AWS experience across compute, networking, storage and security.
• Proficient in Terraform, Terragrunt and CloudFormation.
• Experience with CI/CD, GitOps and containerisation (Kubernetes/EKS).
• Strong scripting with Python, Bash or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical authority for DevOps and AWS platform design.
• Design, deploy and optimise secure, scalable AWS architectures.
• Define patterns for infrastructure, networking, security and automation.
• Provide leadership for AWS networking, including VPCs and Transit Gateway.
• Embed security and reliability into cloud platforms.
• Mentor engineers and guide architectural decisions.
