Job summary

Via is partnering with a global SaaS technology business to hire an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to own cloud infrastructure, reliability, and deployment processes. The role focuses on a high-availability AWS environment and working with Engineering, QA and Security teams.

The position covers AWS, Linux, Docker, Terraform, CI/CD, monitoring, incident management and SRE practices, with remote UK work and strong ownership across platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience.
• Good Linux systems administration knowledge.
• Hands-on Terraform and IaC experience.
• Experience building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with observability tools such as Datadog or Grafana.
• Knowledge of web infrastructure and servers such as Nginx.
• Experience with relational databases like MySQL.
• Understanding of SRE, including SLOs and error budgets.
• Security and compliance awareness; GDPR/ISO familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain and improve scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain monitoring and observability across the platform.
• Identify root causes of infrastructure and performance issues.
• Manage Linux-based systems, web servers and MySQL databases.
• Work with Nginx and MySQL including performance tuning and replication.
• Build and manage containerised environments using Docker.
• Use Kubernetes or AWS ECS for orchestration and scalability.
• Implement infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Develop and improve automated CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Engineering, QA and Security teams; support incident management and on-call postmortems.
• Define and monitor SLOs and error budgets; ensure security practices.
