Job summary

MI6, the Secret Intelligence Service, seeks a senior software engineer to provide technical direction and hands-on coding across cloud platforms, Kubernetes clusters and CI/CD pipelines. You will deploy, monitor, and optimise services, applying Site Reliability Engineering principles for reliability and performance.

You’ll work with AI-assisted tools, collaborate with development, platform, and infrastructure teams, and mentor colleagues in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment in London.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Passion for writing code and improving processes.
• Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Deploy, operate, and maintain software services across platforms.
