Job summary

Spectrum IT Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer for a 6-month fixed-term contract in the UK. You will assess and evolve Kubernetes and AWS environments, design secure scalable platforms, and automate deployments and recovery with IaC.

Close collaboration with developers, QA and infra teams is essential, along with thorough documentation and knowledge transfer. The role emphasizes production-grade Kubernetes, AWS expertise, CI/CD integration, and strong Linux scripting.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and operating production-grade Kubernetes platforms.
• Extensive AWS experience for containerised workloads including networking, IAM, storage, load balancing, monitoring and security.
• Experience with CI/CD integration and automated deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of Helm, Kubernetes manifests, container registries and Docker tooling.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration automation.
• Experience monitoring, logging, observability and incident response.
• In-depth Linux administration, scripting and security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Assess existing Kubernetes platform and AWS infrastructure to set priorities and blockers.
• Design, build and configure secure, reliable Kubernetes environments.
• Troubleshoot clusters, containers, networking, storage, and pipelines.
• Standardise container environments and support CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement IAC and automation for consistent environments and recovery.
• Establish deployment, release promotion and rollback processes.
• Improve platform security, resilience, scalability and backups.
• Document runbooks and handover to the operations team.
