Job summary

Matched Group is seeking a DevOps Engineer to focus on Kubernetes and AWS to accelerate and unblock delivery of Kubernetes environments hosted in AWS. The role is delivery-focused, resolving blockers and establishing robust infrastructure while transferring knowledge and ownership at the end of the engagement.

The project is a 6-month fixed-term contract with start ASAP (within 2 weeks' notice). Location is mostly remote in England with a Berkshire office on day 1 for equipment collection.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, building and operating production-grade Kubernetes platforms within time-constrained programs (CI/CD).
• Kubernetes cluster architecture and AWS-based containerised workloads.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration automation (Terraform/Ansible).
• Linux administration and documenting platform designs for internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess the current Kubernetes platform and AWS architecture, and design a 6-month delivery plan.
• Design, build and configure secure, scalable Kubernetes environments in AWS.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across clusters, containers, and deployment pipelines.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation with security, scalability, and monitoring in mind.
• Produce architecture and support documentation and transfer knowledge to the team.

DevOps Engineer

Contractlength - 6 month FTC

The client is a fast growing SaaS business. As a DevOps Engineer you will focus on using Kubernetes and AWS to accelerate and unblock the delivery of a K8s environments hosted in AWS. You will work with internal teams to design, build and stabilise secure, repeatable development, testing and production environments. The role is delivery-focused - resolve technical blockers, establish robust infrastructure and deployment patterns, transfer knowledge and leave clear documentation and operational ownership at the end of the engagement.

DevOps Engineer - Responsibilities

• Assess the current Kubernetes platform, AWS architecture, delivery plans, and design 6 month delivery plan with clear priorities.
• Design, build and configure secure, reliable, and scalable Kubernetes environments in AWS
• Diagnose and resolve issues across clusters, containers, AWS services, storage, and deployment pipelines
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation as well as security, scalability, and monitoring best practice
• Produce concise architecture, configuration, and support documentation and provide practice knowledge to the team

DevOps Engineer - Requirements

• Experience designing, building and operating production grade Kubernetes platforms within time-constrained programs (CI/CD)

• AWS experience supporting containerised workloads
• Experience establishing separate development, testing and production environments with controlled configuration and release promotion
