Job summary

Transport for London is seeking a Senior DevOps Developer – Java, Oracle to design and deliver a robust DevOps toolchain. You will drive scalable deployment strategies, mentor junior engineers, and ensure high availability and repeatable delivery across product lines.

You will own complex delivery work, guide teams through CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate across service groups to improve automation and reliability. This role offers hybrid working with a balance of office and home-based work.

Qualifications

• Experience building DevOps toolchains to enable product delivery.
• Ability to plan and develop large streams of work in an Agile environment.
• Knowledge of secure, scalable deployment strategies and automation best practices.

Responsibilities

• Develops effective DevOps toolchains to enable product delivery and implement deployment strategies.
• Lead knowledge sharing and promote best practices across teams.
• Identify and resolve complex issues to meet SLAs and ensure service continuity.
• Develop and lead reusable templates and shared services and drive medium-long term strategies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and promote DevOps culture.
• Participate in meetings and follow team processes to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Coach colleagues to grow their skills and adopt best practices in software development.
• Provide insight on new technologies and evaluate their fit for projects.
• Contribute to development plans and estimates to ensure timely delivery.
• Perform code reviews to improve quality and consistency.
• Oversee lifecycle management of applications and platforms for continuous improvement.
